- Identity Data: Includes first name, last name, and email address, which you provide when creating an account.
- Financial Data: We do not collect or store your full payment card details. When you make a payment, you are redirected to our payment processor, Stripe. Stripe processes your payment, and we only receive a secure, anonymous token from them to confirm your payment was successful.
- Technical Data: Includes your internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.
- Submitted Data for Marking: When you submit student work for marking, this data is processed by the Google Gemini API in real-time. We do not store this data on our servers after the marking process is complete.
3. How We Use Your Data (and Our Lawful Basis)
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your data in the following circumstances, based on a specific "lawful basis":

- Firebase (a Google service): We use Firebase for user authentication (to log you in securely). When you create an account, your email address and authentication details are managed by Firebase.
- Stripe: We use Stripe as our exclusive payment processor to handle payments for our services. Your payment details are entered directly into Stripe's secure platform.
- Google Gemini API: We send the content you submit for marking to the Google Gemini API for processing.
5. International Data Transfers
Some of our third-party providers (Firebase and Stripe) are based outside the UK, so their processing of your personal data will involve a transfer of data outside the UK.
When we transfer your data, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by using specific safeguards. Both Google (for Firebase) and Stripe are certified under the UK-US Data Privacy Framework, which requires them to provide similar protection to personal data shared between the UK and the US.
6. Data Security and Retention
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorised way.
We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for. Your account information is kept for as long as you have an account with us. As stated above, submitted work for marking is not retained by us after processing.

We use the following types of cookies:
