Collect Work: Create a Google Form or Microsoft Form for students to submit their work. Ensure the form collects email addresses automatically, or the first question asks for their email.
Get Data: Ensure the form responses are generated into a Spreadsheet (Google Sheets or Excel).
API Key: Copy/Paste your saved Gemini API Key into the required field. (Get a new one here)
Connect Data: Paste the Google Sheet share link or upload your Excel file into the app.
Mark: Run the Marking Wizard to generate instant feedback!

If the app stops working, check these 5 common issues:
API Key Error: Check you entered your Gemini API key correctly. Ensure there are no extra spaces at the start or end.
Missing Email Column: Your spreadsheet must have a column named exactly "Email Address" (or similar) so the AI knows who the student is.
Overload: Try marking fewer students at once (e.g. 5 instead of 30). You might be asking too much of the AI in one go.
Daily Limit: You may have used all your free daily AI tokens from Google. Try again tomorrow.
Busy Service: Google Gemini might simply be busy. Wait a minute and try again.
To start using the AI tools, your first job is to create your own Google Gemini API Key.
This key connects your account to Google's AI engine. It is free, private to you, and takes less than 2 minutes to set up.
💡 Top Tip:
Once you create your key, copy and paste it into a secure document (like Word or Google Docs) on your computer. You will need to paste this key into ClarkMark AI whenever you run a marking tool.
